Subject of the myth that launched a thousand careers, Lana Turner
actually was discovered sipping a soda at Schwabs Drugstore. Throughout
the 40's and 50's she heated up the screen as a classic femme
fatale (most notably in the film noir "The Postman Always Rings
Twice").
