Ginger
As the female half of one of the world's most beloved dance teams,
Ginger Rogers (with partner Fred Astaire) made depression-weary
America forget it's troubles (at least for an hour or two). In
the 1940's, she moved away from musicals, into dramatic and comedic
roles (her "Kitty Foyle" is a gem) and, later, onto the musical
theater stage. I'm the proud owner of one of her sweaters!
